The CBU postgraduate community is diverse and international. We host around 140 scientists across 14 different research groups. State-of-the-art facilities include a 306-channel Vectorview Elekta Neuromag MEG system, 3T Siemens Prisma MRI scanner, 128 channel EEG system, neurostimulation, psychophysiology, hearing, and eye-tracking labs. We also host multiple specialist research panels for neuropsychology patients, children at neurodevelopmental risk and those experiencing affective disorders. Strong links across Cambridge, in particular with the Psychology and Psychiatry Departments, make the MRC CBU a great place for postgraduate study. We also believe that for science and research to have the greatest impact they must be integrated with and informed by society, so we champion and seek out new innovative ways to engage the public and patients with our research.
Put simply, the MRC CBU is a great place to start your research career!
We currently have two postgraduate pathways at the MRC CBU:
1) Pure research Degrees, (MPhil, PhD, 1 or 4 years)
2) *NEW* Master’s in Cognitive Neuroscience (MPhil, 1 year)
