Requirements

• Adults (aged 18+) with a specific strong fear or phobia
• Fluent in English
• Must provide a detailed fear description
• No epilepsy/seizure history, diagnosed heart condition or heart-rate-affecting medication, pregnancy, vestibular/inner-ear disorder or strong motion sickness
• Voluntary: can withdraw anytime

What to expect?

• Submit a fear description
• Attend 2-h sessions (paid £24) to view AI images and items in mixed reality when your skin conductance, heart rate and breathing are monitored by small sensors
• Complete questionnaires

Where will the study take place?

• The study takes place at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit on Chaucer Road, in the city of Cambridge. Please click here to see the location on Google maps.
