I am interested in mechanisms underlying cognitive disability in rare genetic conditions and how they might inform us about the role of synaptic genes in brain structure formation and function. During my PhD, I am employing computational modelling to investigate potential mechanistic routes in which gene mutations impact the brain’s hard- and soft-wiring and how these explain patient phenotypes. I am also interested in AI-driven theoretical models of cognition that integrate structural features of the connectome with neuronal dynamics and task training.
