How do we understand language, remember what we did last week, or attend to one event while ignoring others? Understanding how the brain manages to perform these amazing feats is a huge scientific challenge. Our research into cognitive neuroscience addresses these and other fundamental questions about how the mind and the brain work. We do this by a range of methods including behavioural experiments, brain imaging and computational modelling. Our goal is to improve our scientific understanding of the how the mind and the brain function in normal healthy individuals and how these processes fail in disease or aging.
