Special Interest Meeting in Autobiographical Memory and Psychopathology
The Special Interest Meeting in Autobiographical Memory and Psychopathology is a gathering of academics and students with an interest in how autobiographical memory is related to emotional and mental wellbeing.
The conference will be held in Cambridge on the 5th and 6th of December 2019 at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, with a conference dinner planned on the 5th of December.
This year, we are hoping to supplement the experimental, cognitive psychology research which has traditionally been presented with talks from those exploring biological or neural underpinnings of autobiographical memory. We hope this will help to integrate an understanding of autobiographical memory from biological to behavioural levels. To this end, Professor Brian Levine will make a keynote presentation on the neural correlates of autobiographical remembering, which will be followed by a short discussion session on Linking biological, psychological, and philosophical understanding of autobiographical memory.
Similarly, as autobiographical memory research is steadily being translated toward clinical interventions, we have also included a short discussion session Translation of research into improved clinical practice to which clinicians and individuals with lived experience of mental health disorders have been invited. We hope that discussion with key stakeholders will inform later collaborative research and clinical implementation of autobiographical memory-based programmes.
Abstract Submission
We are inviting abstracts (250 words) for 10-minute oral presentations. We encourage PhD students to consider submitting an abstract for a talk.
Posters sessions will also be held on both days of the conference. We therefore also invite submission of abstracts for posters.
Abstract submission will close on 12th July 2019.
Please submit abstracts by emailing the following details below to the conference team at amconference@mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk
