A study carried out last year by Melissa Wake (Murdoch Childrens Research Institute) and her team including Professor Susan Gathercole (MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit) has been awarded a place in the National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) Ten of the Best 2016 for ‘Achieving in the classroom’.
The study tested the potential benefits of one of the most popular brain training programs as a population level prevention strategy for children with low working memory. No improvements in academic learning were found.
