As a member of the Cognition, Emotion, and Mental Health Programme my research focuses on understanding the association between social information processing and emotion regulation in response to social rejection and inclusion experiences in individuals with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) or those with a history of adverse (traumatic) life events.

As part of my PhD, I am currently looking at the behavioural and neural responses to autobiographical memories of rejection and inclusion in MDD. In addtion, as part of a collaborative project with the University of Tehran and Isfahan, I am investigating the influence of culture and mental health on emotion, memory and cognition in a cross-cultural social context.
