Congratulations to MRC CBU’s Aya Ben-Yakov, who has been appointed as one of the new Dorothy Hodgkin Fellows for 2019. The Royal Society announced the appointment of eight new Dorothy Hodgkin Fellows this week. The researchers will take up their new posts at institutions across the UK from the start of October.
Aya Said: “When we think about past experience, we tend to remember it as composed of distinct events – ‘got dressed, had breakfast, cycled to work’. Yet our actual experience is continuous. How does our brain take this experience and transform it into distinct memories? The aim of my research is to identify the basic building block of episodic memory (memory for events). I am very fortunate to have received the Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship, which will allow me to tackle this exciting question from different angles, combining behavioural and neuroimaging techniques.”
