Eight members of the MRC-CBU travelled to Jodrell Bank Observatory to engage the public with Cognitive Neuroscience for three days at an exciting new festival of science and music – the Blue Dot.
The stall, which showcased thought-provoking Cognitive Neuroscience research, was located directly underneath the Lovell Telescope, and attracted more than a thousand members of public.
Exhibits included a rubber-hand illusion that demonstrated that even the perception of your own body can be fooled, and an open discussion about the Bayesian Brain Hypothesis. Other popular activities included a Deep Dream video that inspired discussions about the link between Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence, and a Tower of Hanoi puzzle that taxed people’s ability of Executive Control.
