Abstract:
The purpose of this chapter is to introduce the topics of neuropsychology, neuropsychological assessment and assessment for neuropsychological rehabilitation. We introduce the language of neurology and neuropsychology, describe the physical brain and its main components, outline the structure and function of the lobes, indicate what tasks might be used to detect dysfunctions of important sites, give classifications of the main neuropsychological disorders and, finally, deal with the process of interviewing and assessing.
