Research areas
I am interested in the neural basis of moral reasoning and judgment—and what brain mechanisms contribute to this complex process. Behaviour doesn't always bear a one-to-one correspondence to cognitive self appraisals. My specific research interests include understanding the disparity between the idealized and actual moral self, and investigating the factors that influence and alter our moral behaviours. I use both neuroimaging techniques (functional magnetic resonance imaging) and behavioural analysis to examine brain activity in healthy individuals making real-time moral decisions.
