I am an MD/PhD student from the United States, currently completing the PhD component of my training in the Genomic Disorders and Cognitive Development group at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, supervised by Kate Baker. My research focuses on identifying EEG biomarkers of synaptic dysfunction in rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorders caused by synaptic vesicle cycle protein mutations. I aim to characterize whether these genetically distinct conditions produce convergent or divergent neurophysiological signatures at the circuit level. It is my hope that this work will ultimately contribute to a cross-disorder biomarker battery, providing objective, non-invasive outcome measures applicable to future clinical trials and therapeutic development in these rare conditions.
My studies are funded by the Gates Cambridge Scholarship.
