Maris is a member of the Cognition, Emotion and Mental Health Programme. She is interested in measuring and undersanding the effectiveness of behavioural interventions. Her PhD projects focussed on the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions and their potential mechanisms of action. She closely collaborates with researchers at the University of Melbourne to investigate how to communicate the effectiveness of preventative mental health programmes to the public. In addition to her academic pursuits, Maris serves as an advisor to the government of Estonia and to various governmental insitutions in Estonia.
Maris's PhD studies were funded by Kristjan Jaak's scholarship for degree studies abroad by the Education and Youth Board of the Government of Estonia.
