Andrew.Mathews@mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk

Andrew Mathews was Senior research scientist of the Emotion group till Sept 2004.

My research interests focus on the cognitive, psycho-physiological and neural processes underlying vulnerability to negative emotions and disorders, particularly anxiety states. Past work with colleagues (e.g. Colin MacLeod, Karin Mogg, Brendan Bradley, Michael Eysenck and others) extending over the last 20 years or so, has established that vulnerability to anxiety states is associated with characteristic styles of processing emotional events.

Please visit the following link for an overview of the research conducted by me and other members of the emotion group on processing styles in anxiety.
