Research areas
I am interested in investigating the neuronal mechanisms underlying human cognition, in particular, language, attention, memory and action planning. In my work, I make joint use of two complementary approaches: (1) I formalise and implement computational models of the cortex, and use them to make predictions about the spatio-temporal patterns of activation expected to occur in the brain during specific sensory stimulation; and (2) I then test the validity of such predictions (and generality of the models) by means of experimental techniques -- in particular, magneto-encephalography (MEG). I hold a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Durham (UK) and a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge (UK) (additional publications and info. available here).
