Pathe News filmed a number of items about human factors research on driving and the military
One of these movies is not only a wonderful example of the Pathe News genre but it describes some driver behaviour research undertaken by the Unit in 1953. You can download and view a copy of this news item by going to http://www.britishpathe.com/
and then typing medical research council cambridge into their search field. This will then give you an item called "Driving Test" you can download a preview copy free that will run on your local pc or mac.
There are others in the Pathe series that provide a real feel for the kind of human factors research of the 1950's, including work on heat rooms, and the testing RAF pilots.
